Skansen Overview

Step back in time at Skansen, the worlds oldest outdoor museum. Situated on Djurgarden in the heart of the city, Skansen is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Stockholm.
This historical village has been made to create a truly authentic experience of how Swedish life used to be in the 18th and 19th century.
Skansen also has a zoo where you can see Nordic animals such as bears, wolves, reindeer and elk. The aquarium, at a little extra cost, is also well worth a visit.
For the kids there is even an old fashioned amusement park with rides dating back to the 19th century.
There is so much to see and do at Skansen for both adults and kids, it is worth putting aside at least half a day to visit.

    Wonderful on a nice day

Darren F. Wolstein from Brighton, UK

This is an open air museum that is wonderful to check out during a nice day - not so much if it raining. Good place to take the kids.
