Travel by ferry
Passenger ferries sail to Stockholm from Finland. The journey from Finland takes 11-15 hours depending on from where you depart from. Daily ferries are operated by Viking Line and Silja Line. Both operators have ferries with good facilities for their passengers, including food & drink, entertainment and shopping.
Airport info
Arlanda airport is Sweden´s largest airport and located 43km (27 miles) from Stockholm city center. More than 80 airlines fly from Arlanda airport, transporting almost 18 million passengers to 166 destinations. Arlanda is easy to navigate and has excellent transport links to Stockholm and other areas of Sweden.
Inside the airport there is a selection of shops selling footwear, clothing, perfumes and cosmetics. There are also cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy food and beverages. Arlanda´s tax-free shop was voted the best newly opened airport shop in the world by international jury in 2009.
Airport transportation
There are many ways of getting to and from Arlanda airport. The fastest way to get to downtown Stockholm is via taxi or the Arlanda express train (non-stop). The cost of taking a taxi from Arlanda airport to Stockholm center will be around 475 SEK.
Time to Stockholm center via taxi: Around 30 minutes
Time to Stockholm center via express train: 20 minutes
Also available are coaches, long distance train and buses.
During busy periods there are always available taxis outside the arrival hall and trains run frequently. Tickets for buses and trains may be bought at the information counters or from a ticket dispenser machines by the escalators.

Arlanda airport strives to be as eco-friendly as possible and has a goal of zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2012. This colossal task has gained world-wide attention with The New York Times recognizing it as “The hands-down winner in actively battling global warming” in April 2009.
Most of the work done is not visible to the naked eye but one aspect is: eco-friendly transportation. Over 50% of taxis at the airport are now eco-friendly and have a special queue, making it easy for every traveller to choose environmentally friendly transport.
